Native Youth Club
The Multi-Cultural Center offers Native American cultural programming for elementary students on Friday afternoons from 4:00p.m. to 5:30 p.m. through the Native Youth Club. Although the Native Youth Club is open to students of all ethnic backgrounds, over 95% of students participating are part or are of full Native American descent. Programming highlights include elders teaching of Native Culture, learning words in Lakota or Dakota, sewing traditional Regalia, learning traditional dances, drumming and bead-working. Students also learn the value of community service through volunteering to share cultural stories with other children in need. Programming, snacks and transportation within bus boundaries are provided free of charge.
